Boyd originally came to Stray Haven last summer when he was rescued from a hoarding situation with 81 other cats. While most of the other hoarder cats we took in got healthy and found their forever homes, Boyd has had a more difficult journey. When we first took him to the vet, we found that he had a nasopharyngeal poylp in his ear and had it removed.
Unfortunately, since then Boyd has continued to have chronic problems with that ear, resulting in multiple trips to the vet for antibiotics and other treatments. In late December, our vet noticed that his ear canal is completely obstructed with a large mass. We scheduled a consultation with VSS, and they recommended a CT scan, along with a bulla osteotomy and ear canal ablation. We are hopeful that this will solve Boyd’s ear problems for good so he can find the forever home he deserves.
