Our FIV+ Cats

BOLTIMG_7463

My name’s Bolt! I was rescued from animal control when my time was up. I’m a very gentle boy who likes to follow you around for pets and attention. I’m a calm and quiet all white kitty with the most adorable fat cheeks you’ve ever seen! My foster meowmy just loves to kiss my face! I get along great with other cats (I like to groom them), and I’m also fond of my best buddy, Priya (also FIV+).

I test positive for FIV, which means either I carry the virus or I was vaccinated for it at some point. But guess what? FIV IS NO BIG DEAL! FIV positive cats can live as long as negative cats and may never have any health issues. All we need is good food, regular vet visits, a clean environment, and lots of love! FIV positive cats can also live with negative cats as long as the household is stable and everyone gets along, which is definitely the case with me – I live with my FIV negative friends and we get along great! FIV is spread to other cats through deep, vicious bite wounds that are uncommon outside of intact tomcats (and I’m neutered!) Besides, I’m a lover, not a fighter!

LOKIloki

I am approximately 3 years old as of September 2016. I was rescued from Jefferson County Animal Control’s euthanasia list. I am a very sweet and laid back boy. I am a total lap cat; I am happy to sit in your lap as long as you will let me!  I am a very big boy, but I am as gentle as can be.

MONTY

I’m Monty! I am an approximately 5 year old (as of August 2016) black and white shorthair who was saved from a rural animal control when my time was up. I am a really sweet guy who loves people, and I am very playful and curious. I’m not a huge fan of certain other cats (I do get along with some), so I would probably be best as an only cat. My foster mommy doesn’t have dogs, but I’d probably be fine around them, and kids would be great!

PRIYApriya

Priya came to us from an animal control in Germantown, TN. She was very pregnant, but unfortunately, we lost all of her babies. Priya is a very sweet, friendly, and outgoing petite medium haired black kitty with a white locket who is about 1 year old as of April 2016. She is very talkative and would love to tell you all about her day. She loves to show affection; she gives such forceful headbutts that she knocks your head back! She gets along well with other kitties and should be fine with kids or a cat-friendly dog.

Priya tests positive for FIV, but that’s no big deal. FIV positive cats can live as long as negative cats and may never have any health issues. All they need is good food, regular vet visits, a clean environment, and lots of love! FIV positive cats can also live with negative cats as long as the household is stable and everyone gets along, which is definitely the case with Priya. FIV is spread through deep, vicious bite wounds that are uncommon outside of intact tomcats, but Priya is a spayed female and has been cat tested.

RICHARDIMG_0904

I am a 9 year old DSH brown classic tabby with white (as of March 2016). I am a pretty friendly but low maintenance guy who likes people. I would enjoy sitting with you while watching TV. I can also be pretty playful at times; I enjoy batting around soft toys and the plastic doughnut toy with the ball inside. I am FIV+, but I am healthy and I get along well with other cats and dogs.

FIV positive cats can also live with negative cats as long as the household is stable and everyone gets along, which is definitely the case with me – my foster meowmy is letting me roam freely with her personal negative kitties and we’re doing just fine! FIV is spread to other cats through deep, vicious bite wounds that are uncommon outside of intact tomcats (and I’m neutered!)
